Eli Lilly appoints new global markets president

Eli Lilly has appointed Ilya Yuffa as executive vice president and president, Lilly Global Markets, effective January 1, 2027. This change comes as the company combines its US and international businesses into Lilly Global Markets.

The company expects this consolidation to accelerate decision-making, increase scalability, and provide a unified capability to improve human health through expanded access to medicines worldwide.

This announcement follows the news that Patrik Jonsson, executive vice president and president, Lilly International, will retire at the end of 2026 after a 36-year career at Lilly.

David A. Ricks, Lilly chair and CEO, stated that now is the right time to consolidate the company’s geographies for greater impact. He noted that Ilya Yuffa has run both the international and US businesses and is uniquely qualified to lead the company’s customer-facing operations worldwide.
