AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo have signed a clinical collaboration with Summit Therapeutics to test the pairing of Datroway and ivonescimab in several tumor types, notably lung and breast cancers. The first study will be a phase-3 trial in first-line triple-negative breast cancer.
Datroway is a TROP2-directed DXd antibody-drug conjugate discovered by Daiichi Sankyo and jointly developed and commercialized by the two partners.
“Central to our strategy to transform cancer outcomes is harnessing the power of immunotherapy and antibody drug conjugate combinations to drive deeper, more durable responses,” said Susan Galbraith, executive vice-president of oncology R&D at AstraZeneca. “We believe the combination of Datroway and ivonescimab has the potential to make a meaningful difference in multiple tumour types including lung and breast cancers.”
“We are focused on maximising the potential of our DXd antibody drug conjugate portfolio through innovative combinations and strategic collaborations,” said John Tsai, global head of R&D at Daiichi Sankyo.
